One day: 9.30am - 4.30pm
Starting with a classroom introduction and health and safety briefing, enjoy an informal day assembling your beehive.
No prior woodworking knowledge is needed and all tools will be provided for the day.
This is an informal workshop provided by our local beekeeping association, giving guidance and demonstration on how to assemble each part of a beehive.
The course includes the cost of a pine hive, comprising: floor, brood, 2 x supers, 4" flat roof, crown board and plastic queen excluder.

What to Expect
An informal and practical day learning how to assemble a complete beehive from a flatpack kit. Each student will take home their own assembled hive in which they can use to keep bees along with the knowledge and confidence to assemble their own hives in the future.
We will also show you how to assemble your frames. If you would like to have a go yourself then frames and foundation can be purchased on the day for you to build and take home. If you are a member of the Hastings and Rother Beekeeping Association, then you receive a 10% discount on all frames and foundation purchased on the day, just bring along your membership number.
What to Bring
Please bring a packed lunch. Refreshments will be provided, including a homemade cake.
Parking is available at the entrance to our farm and our training room is just a short walk down our track.
Bring yourself, confirmation of your booking, and any questions you may have.
Don't forget your H&R Beekeepers membership number for 10% off frames and foundation purchased on the day.
Please arrive 15 mins before the start of the course for a prompt start.
Cancellation Policy:
To ensure all attendees get the best experience from their training we only run our courses in small groups.
We therefore must operate with a strict cancellation policy: Refunds (or booking transfers) are not given for cancellations made within 2 weeks of the course. If a cancellation is made with more than 2 weeks notice but within 6 weeks of the course date, then we will try to re-sell your tickets, if we are successful then a refund will be issued for the full amount less a £10 administration fee. If a cancellation is made with more than 6 weeks notice, then a full refund will be issued.
