Due to the current Defra bird flu restrictions, we are sadly in a position to have to suspend our poultry boarding service until further notice.  We hope this situation will not last too long so please keep an eye on our website or sign up to our newsletter to receive notifications.

This is due to Defra banning all gatherings of poultry from Monday 10th Feb.  This includes boarding services.  We can however reassure you that this does not add any extra requirements on your hens at home, and we are still able to sell chickens and chicken supplies as usual.  So, our shop will remain open at the weekends, and we are still offering local deliveries and locker collections during the week.

Until the situation changes, we will not take any more bookings for poultry boarding and have issued a full refund for any bookings placed.
Please note, we are still able to board other small animals (Rabbits and Guinea Pigs) so please place your bookings on our website as normal.

We have been boarding hens now since 2007, so it really saddens us to not be able to continue with this part of our business.  We have many loyal customers and hate to be in a position where we could be leaving people struggling to find alternative arrangements.

Mantel Farm will feel the loss of this important part of our business. The best way you can help us and other poultry businesses is to follow strict biosecurity; reducing the risk of bird flu spreading to our back garden chickens, so keeping your hens safe during this time of increased  Avian Infuenza cases.

Again, we are really sorry for any inconvenience caused and truly hope we will be able to take your boarding bookings again very soon.
